I apologize for the somberness of relatively recent blogs, but I feel like I need to mention another difficult piece of news that I received in Milan a few days ago. Another good friend of mine from school, Katie McGuire, a vibrant, caring, wonderful person, was involved in a fatal car accident on route 57 in Illinois. This occurred within 2 weeks of the equally unexpected death of Patrick Cassidy, another long term friend of mine. However, right now, this isn't really about me - I just mention it because if you are a reader, I'd ask that you please keep the families and friends of these two in your thoughts and prayers. They will need it.
